A basic house with the Bearded Merchant inside.

Merchants are friendly creatures who serve as shopkeepers to the player. A merchant will move in when their respective spawn item is placed in a habitable room.

Interacting with a merchant will open their shop menu. In the shop menu the player can purchase items with Ancient Coins, or sell items to obtain Ancient Coins. Each merchant has a limited stock of items, and it will take some time (see below) for their shop to refresh after one item is out of stock.

There are a total of 6 merchants and 6 respective spawning items in the game.

Housing requirements

In order for a room to be considered "habitable", the following requirements must be met:

Neither lighting or a door are technically needed for a room to be considered valid.

Once all room requirements are met, and the merchant does not have an existing Bed set as their spawn point, they will arrive immediately.
